Driving Directions
Getting to the Outer Banks is easy and once you are here, navigating the Island is simple. We are located on the beach road at mile post 8.5 in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks.
From the North
- Take I-95 to I-64 East (toward Williamsburg)
- Continue to I-664 to Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel
- to I-64 in Chesapeake
- VA-168 S becomes Caratoke Hwy.
- Stay straight to go onto N Croatan Hwy/US-158 E.
- Turn left onto E Ocean Bay Blvd.
- Turn right onto S Virginia Dare Trl/NC-12. (Beach Road)
- Shutters on the Banks is on the left around MP 8.5
From Norfolk International Airport
- Go west on Norview Ave.
- Merge onto I-64 E toward Chesapeake/Va Beach
- VA-168 S becomes Caratoke Hwy.
- Stay straight to go onto N Croatan Hwy/US-158 E.
- Turn left onto E Ocean Bay Blvd.
- Turn right onto S Virginia Dare Trl/NC-12. (Beach Road)
- Shutters on the Banks is on the left around MP 8.5
From the South
- From I-95 take 64 East around Rocky Mount
- Stay onto US-64 E via EXIT 515 toward Manteo/Plymouth.
- Stay straight to go onto S Croatan Hwy/US-158 W.
- Cross the Baum Bridge to Nag’s Head
- Continue North on 64/158
- Turn right onto Neptune Dr.
- Turn left onto S Virginia Dare Trl/NC-12. (Beach Road)
- Shutters on the Banks is on the right around MP 8.5
From Raleigh-Durham International Airport
- Go north on W International Dr toward Rescue Ct
- Turn left onto Commerce Blvd.
- Turn right onto Lumley Rd.
- Turn left onto I-540 E.
- Merge onto US-64 E via EXIT 26B on the left toward Rocky Mount/Wilson
- Merge onto US-64 E via EXIT 515 toward Manteo/Plymouth.
- Stay straight to go onto S Croatan Hwy/US-158 W.
- Turn right onto Neptune Dr.
- Turn left onto S Virginia Dare Trl/NC-12. (Beach Road)
- Shutters on the Banks is on the right around MP 8.5
Checkin & Checkout
- Check-in is at 4:00PM
- Check-out is at 11:00AM
- Late Checkout Policy: Check-out time is 11:00am, will be pleased to accommodate late check-outs based upon availability. However, please note that a full day rate will be charged to all guests who check-out after 12:00 PM hotel time.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received 72 hours prior to the arrival date. Cancellations with less than 72 hours notice will be charged for one full night.
